"Poet and editor Kaveh Akbar will read as part of UT’s Writers in the Library reading series. Kaveh Akbar’s poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Poetry, APR, Ploughshares, PBS NewsHour, and elsewhere. His debut full-length collection, Calling a Wolf a Wolf, was released by Alice James Books in September 2017."

Blackout Poetry Hosted By UT English Dept.

Join us on Wednesday, September 13th, for a “Blackout Poetry” event at the Golden Roast Café right off of campus, from 7 to 8pm . Blackout Poetry is created by keeping select words from an existing texts, such as a newspaper, and “blacking out” the other words on the page. People from all walks of life can come together and get their creative nature on through writing and reading poetry, or just relax and listen to others share their creative natures.
