The Knoxville Theatre Club curates this community event calendar in cooperation with The 5th Woman, Electric Pheasant Open Mic, Knox Generation, Knoxville Poetry Slam, Knoxville Writers Guild, OOHx2 Productions, Po Boys and Poets, and Sundress Academy for the Arts, to celebrate and foster the arts of Performance Poetry, Slam, and Spoken Word in the Knoxville and East Tennessee area.

A weekend pass includes one-on-one and group instruction, writing supplies, food, drinks, and all on-site amenities for $75. Tents, sleeping bags, and other camping equipment are available to rent.

Join us on Wednesday, September 13th, for a “Blackout Poetry” event at the Golden Roast Café right off of campus, from 7 to 8pm . Blackout Poetry is created by keeping select words from an existing texts, such as a newspaper, and “blacking out” the other words on the page. People from all walks of life can come together and get their creative nature on through writing and reading poetry, or just relax and listen to others share their creative natures.
Tickets are $25 or $15 for students and includes instruction, snacks, and drinks.
