Knoxville Theatre Slam Rules
Monologues only. Dialogues and scenes are not eligible for competition.
Props and costumes are okay.
Judges are selected from the audience.
Scoring is based on a 1-10 scale with decimals. (4.8, 7.2, 9.9 etc)
5 minute time limit from the moment the actor reaches the stage. This includes any set up and strike time for props. For every 10 seconds over the time limit .5 points will be deducted from the overall score.
The highest and lowest scores for each performer will be dropped and the remaining scores added together to come up with the score for that round.
The Slam consists of two rounds. The performers with top scores from the first round go on to compete in the final round. Scores for the second round are independent of the previous round.
Different pieces are suggested (though not required) for each round.
Eternal Glory goes to the victor.
